What’s in our May-June issue?

Published in Blogging Irish History

The May-June issue of History Ireland is out! PageTurnerCoverComplete with an eye-catching front cover relating to Patrick Geoghegan’s exploration of the Irish links with the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. Centenaries aren’t the only anniversaries; there are also bi-centenaries, and that of the most important battle of nineteenth-century Europe falls this year. But that’s not all that can be found in the latest issue; amongst other things, there is:

  • Padraig Lenihan on a plot to kill Oliver Cromwell
  • Lar Joye on the Lusitania
  • Gillian O’Brien on the ‘diabolical’ murder of Patrick Cronin in Chicago in 1889
  • Fiona Fitzsimons on tracing your family history in the Registry of deeds
  • C.J. Woods on big days out to Bodenstown, 1872-1922
  • Eve Morrison on the Bureau of Military History and the Boston College project

And much more besides, plus the usual winning mix of letters, reviews, notices and a crossword. Enjoy!
