Meidheal Award for Crossmolina

Mayo North Family History Research Centre has won the annual MeidhealAward . Established in 1981 as the Crossmolina Historical Society, itsoon developed and set up a multi-faceted centre which included afamily history research unit and a Rural Artefacts Museum. The centrewas officially opened in April 1992 by President Mary Robinson andsince then has gone from strength to strength. The awards are given tocommunity-based projects that develop and create employment in the area.
