10 Downing Street steps

Published in Issue 3 (May/June 2016), Letters, Volume 24

Sir,—In disputing the attribution of a photograph of the New Zealand prime minister ‘outside 10 Downing Street’ (HI 23.6, Nov./Dec. 2015, p. 35), W. Peter Dunne claims to be familiar with the building and states that ‘there are no steps, nor were there ever any’ at the building. While the picture may, as you suggest, have been taken at the back of the building, please note that there are two steps at the front of the building and always have been.—Yours etc.,

Letterkenny, Co. Donegal
