While probably not as well known amongst the wider public as his contemporaries, Robin Dudley Edwards and T.W. Moody, David B. Quinn is arguably Ireland’s greatest living historian, whose career has straddled the Atlantic with scholarship on English expansion in both Ireland and America. Still going strong at eighty-nine, he spoke to Elizabeth Malcolm recently.
