Sliabh gCua

Published in General, Issue 5 (Sep/Oct 2008), Letters, Letters, Volume 16

Sir,

—I write to you in the hope that some of your readers may be ableto help me with some research that I am currently undertaking. I livein an area of County Waterford known as Sliabh gCua. To many, theSliabh gCua area consists of the civil parishes of Lickoran andSeskinane, plus small portions of bounding parishes. Research to datesuggests, however, that the area could be a lot bigger, extending froman area east of the village of Kilmacthomas (between Dungarvan andWaterford) and to an area between Ballyporeen and Mitchelstown. Thearea would also extend to a line north of Dungarvan and north ofClonmel. I was wondering whether any reader knew of any material that Icould read up on which might further help me in my study.

—Yours etc.,
